Christmas Toy Drive
2017 - December, Latest news
More than 200 toys have been donated for children who will be spending Christmas at one of our Women’s Refuges. The nine refuges provide emergency support accommodation for women and children.
PA Staff who bravely tackled the gruelling Winter Wolf Run to raise awareness for the Christmas Toy drive would like to send out a big thank you to colleagues who generously donated gifts. The parcels will go a long way to making a lot of children and parents smile who are currently receiving support from our women’s refuges
Sheryl McCartney, Compliancy Officer and the campaign organiser, said: “Our women’s refuges provide a valuable service, offering a safe refuge for women and children at a time when they are most vulnerable.
“We are delighted to be able to help support such a vital cause and have been completely overwhelmed by the generosity of colleagues who have got behind it. Children often don’t understand why they’ve been taken away from familiar surroundings. A toy quickly becomes something of their own which helps to make them feel more secure.”
Hannah commented: “It is always heart-warming when people think of those in more challenging circumstances and give so generously at this time of year.
We would like to thank everyone at PA Housing for their kindness and wish one and all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
